The destination

Loreto, between the sea and the sierra

A Sea of Cortez town in Baja California Sur, with islands in front and the Sierra de la Giganta behind.

The destination

Loreto is a town on the Sea of Cortez, with a waterfront promenade, a mission and an easy pace. Offshore lie the islands of Bahía de Loreto National Park; behind it, the Sierra de la Giganta.

Nopoló sits south of town, next to the golf course. That’s where the hotel is.

Getting here

By road

Along the Transpeninsular Highway (Mexico 1), which runs the length of the peninsula.
